About the Author

Taran Matharu is a British author of young adult fantasy novels. Born in London in 1990, he grew up influenced by his Indian heritage and was drawn to fantasy novels and video games. After completing a degree in Business Administration, he pursued writing and self-published his debut novel, The Novice, on Wattpad. It became a New York Times bestseller, followed by three sequels. Matharu's writing is known for its immersive worlds and complex characters. He has also written a prequel series titled The Contender and a standalone novel, The Chosen.
