In Tokyo, 1995, five men from different backgrounds meet weekly at a racetrack to bet on horses. They share a sense of discontent with their lives and represent various social issues in post-War Japan. Among them are a misunderstood genius working as a welder, a disgraced detective, a Zainichi Korean banker facing discrimination, a struggling single father, and an elderly drugstore owner mourning his grandson's mysterious death. United by their grievances, they plot a kidnapping as a form of revenge against a society that prioritises corporations over individuals.
