The Great Passion

In Leipzig in 1726, eleven-year-old Stefan Silbermann faces the loss of his mother. He is sent to train as a singer in the St Thomas Church choir, where he finds solace under the guidance of Johann Sebastian Bach. As an apprentice in Bach's household, Stefan grapples with his grief. His experience deepens when he witnesses the creation of a new work by Bach, which will become one of the most significant pieces of music in history. This story explores themes of love, death, and the enduring power of music.
