The Oz series written by L. Frank Baum is considered one of the best in the genre of children's book series across generations. It tells the story of the imaginary land of Oz along with several fictitious characters.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz follows the adventures of a young country girl named Dorothy and her dog, Toto, who are swept away by a strong wind to a magical land where Dorothy is recognized as a sorceress. She meets a living Scarecrow, a Tinman, and a fearful Lion.
The Marvelous Land of Oz tells the story of Tip, a young orphan boy, whose adventures reveal that he is actually Princess Ozma of Oz.
Ozma of Oz brings back Dorothy, who, along with a hen named Billina, is swept away by a storm while traveling to Australia, separating her from her uncle, Henry.
The second book continues Dorothy's adventures in fantastic lands, introducing beloved characters like Ozma, the Wizard, and new ones like the Cab-horse and Polychrome. Readers are taken to magical realms filled with anthropomorphized creatures, where they encounter the Mangaboos, Gargoyles, and more.
The third book features stories like The Patchwork Girl of Oz, where Ojo Munchkin and the Patchwork Girl embark on a quest to bring statues to life, and The Scarecrow of Oz, where Captain Bill and Trot face an evil King.
The fourth book takes us to the island of Pingaree, where Prince Inga and King Rinkitink undertake a dangerous voyage to rescue his parents, meeting new characters and facing unforeseen dangers along the way.
The fifth book includes The Magic of Oz, where Kiki Aru learns a magical word of transformation, and
